Easter Baptism
Easter is a time of New Life.
We remember the resurrection of Jesus from death to life. We cling to his promise of Eternal Life. Through faith, the Holy Spirit works new life in us. As a result, the Ancient church began associating baptism with Easter. People would gather early on Easter Sunday morning to hear the news of Jesus' resurrection before being connected with His resurrection, in a very special & personal way through baptism. Romans 6:3,4 comments on this connection, "Don't you know that all of us who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were therefore buried with him through baptism into death in order that, just as Christ was raised from the dead through the glory of the Father, we too may live a new life." Baptism is a personal promise of forgiveness from God. It connects us to Jesus' death and resurrection. Through it, God promises us a new life -- as his Child. This Easter at Gethsemane, we will be offering Baptism in our special Easter services. Interested in baptism for you or your child? Fill out the form below. Want to talk to Pastor Phil?
