All come from dust and to dust all will return. (Ecclesiastes 3:20)
Not a real inspiring passage, huh?
We all die.
We know it.
Please don't remind me pastor.
But there's good news in the passage. Our God is excellent at working with dust.
He created the first human out of dust and breathed life into him. (Genesis 2)
He brought forth swarms of gnats from the clouds of dust in Egypt. (Exodus 8)
He breathed life into his own dust and rose from the dead. (John 20)
He promises the power to raise your body from the dust of death. (Romans 6)
This is the point of Lent.
We recognize our sin.
We acknowledge it leads to death.
We confess that we are powerless to do anything about it.
We put trust in the God who created dust.
Who breathed life into it.
Who will breath life into it again.
Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. It's a part of the year that Christians spend time in meditation and reflection on their sin and their Savior. Here are a few ways to get the most out of Lent.

Ash Wednesday marks the beginning of Lent. It's a part of the year that Christians spend time in meditation and reflection on their sin and their Savior. Here are a few ways to get the most out of Lent.
- Follow our Bible Reading Plan
- Ask questions and discuss concepts about the reading in our Facebook Group.
- Sign up for one of our Growth Groups. These will be designed to dig deeper into the Lenten sermons from Sunday. Don't miss this change to connect with Jesus and others.
- Make Sunday worship a priority in Lent. We are continuing our series called Angler to Apostle, as we see Peter's full sinfulness on display contrasted with Jesus' divine selflessness. Don't miss this change to challenge yourself and grow with the message of God's Word.
